In 2007 Solutions Architecture were contracted by Waiuku Health Plus a joint venture between a developer land owner and medical centre director.
We visited their existing practice based in the main street of Waiuku, that had been the home of the Medical Centre for many years.
We worked with Mark, Jo and Terry to create a new facility of an integrated Medical Centre that had the space to accommodate associated businesses.
Good looks cost effective but long lasting materials were the backbone of the project, with high quality materials and product used to create a fresh hardwearing environment.
The dream was finally realised with the opening of the purpose built centre, that catered for the initial Medical Centre GP practice, Pharmacy, Laboratory, Dentist, Physio and a range of consulting specialists, as well a cafe on the ground floor.
The new purpose built centre was built under supervision of Terry Short developer and joint venture owner.
The main contractor was DB Short Builders Ltd.
Solutions were retained to be on call during construction and attended regular site meetings until completion and opening by the then Health Minister Tony Ryall. This was a truly community event with over 300 people in attendance.
The centre had now been in operation over 6 years. With Dr Eustace saying it just works great.
Recent expansions have pushed part of the GP practice up onto the top floor where space was saved, such is the success of the medical practice.
