About This Project

Our long standing clients came back to us to design their new home after doing several large projects prior to this one.

They had purchased the site which was gently sloping but had a northerly aspect onto the cul-de-sac. This created a challenge in terms of outdoor living and privacy.

We created a home with two exterior courtyards for both sun and privacy, one with a louvered roof giving shelter if the weather is inclement.

The house was to be built with robust materials, they chose plastered brick, Rockcote Integra air rated concrete plastered panel system, and some composite weatherboard, a longrun colorsteel roof complemented the contemporary design.

With family coming and going they wanted the lounge area to be able to be shut off from the family kitchen space. In consultation with them we created a glazed pull apart cavity slider system, this creates the division with a visually permeable aspect from one room to the other, large sliders complement the home in terms of access.

A bridge on the first floor separates the master bedroom and ensuite from the other bedrooms, garaging to the rear does not dominate the street frontage and uses the south-eastern corner well.

Having lived there for a few years now the owners say they find the house very easy to live in and enjoy the warmth and light filled aspect this house gives them without overheating.
